The following designs are from my second year in university. We were given two different project briefs to design for the script of The Bacchae adapted for the Kneehigh Theater Company.
The first term project had the requirement to be "Future Tudor" and I focused on an "Artificial vs Natural" Theme.
The second term project was to design and source for Film. The theme I chose was "Modern Politics".
This is my second term construction project for my second year at the University of Huddersfield. I drafted and constructed the bodysuit with added trapunto quilting with expantex and suede foam painted on top for added mold texture. The Tudor corset is made from hand cut metal and I experimented with metal rusting. Under the top corset is a PVC corset made with layers of lightweight plastic and ink between the layers of PVC. A more detailed photo of this textiles is in my “Bacchae Textiles” folder on the following page. I also created all the extra pieces of the costume such as the vines and hand cut perspex crown.
