These are the second full pair of shoes I have made and the first time I learned the traditional hand welting technique!
These are my first shoes I have made completely from scratch. I drafted the pattern, prepared the last, sewed and constructed the shoes.
This 2014 project is designed to mimic kids’ light-up tennis shoes, each time you step, the heel lights up. I created a tutorial of our entire process on the Instructables website, where it has had over 22,000 views. I used premade platform heels, which were deconstructed in order to add circuit boards, wiring, LEDs, and a heel sensor.
